was the holiday created for jesus? or did the curch take an existing holiday and attach jesus so we feel better about celebrating it? wy is that most christian holidays are celebrated by everyone? is it better that the jewish holidays arent as widely celebrated and thing like schools and stores are still open on them? is that more living outside the world? and if its all about celebrating jesus- what is with the church not only promoting this whole thing about consumerism in our children- but also having people who cant afford to spoil their kids sign up so someone else can continue to say "its stuff that makes us happy?" just some random things that popped into my head as i typed...
God has called me to equip and empower His people for their ministries.
"But I would bring everything to the test of the Word and the Spirit. Not the Word only, but the Word and the Spirit. 'God is spirit,' said our Lord, 'and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth.' While it is never possible to have the Spirit without at least some measure of truth, it is, unfortunately, possible to have a shell of truth without the Spirit. Our hope is that we may have both the Spirit and the truth in fuller measure."

Your thoughts are good ones, JS! I'm especially intrigued with your question about being willing to give up MY stuff for others.
