Did You Know? (Part 2)

So if you were paying attention to my blog and the responses last Thursday, you'll know there was some discussion on our first draft "Did You Know?" Campaign radio ad. I took it seriously and put a lot of thought into what we were going to do to make the ad more interesting to a younger generation and at the same time reach the non-churched.

We made some changes, but probably not as many as some would prefer. But I started thinking that we don't JUST want to reach the unchurched or JUST the younger generation. We want to reach everyone (as many as we can anyway)- especially if they are looking for a church (or spiritual connection) and don't even know The Salvation Army is an option. After all, our campaign is to let people know we ARE a church. So we shouldn't then go about making us sound like we're NOT a church at the same time. You know- can't have your cake and eat it too.

So listen to the newest ad by clicking on the title above. Make sure the volume is high enough to hear the new background music. Then let me know what you think.

grrr.....i hit post before i got to put the rest of my comment down.....i was going to say that I really like the new "personal story" -- it is still effective but it is more relevant now. The navy thing was sweet, but it isn't really relevant to a wide group of people...the carpentry story works for such a more diverse crowd. I like!!!

Well, we've actually got 5 different people featured- a Navy guy, a Youth Worker, Cabinet Maker, College Worker, and us the "Pastors" (we'll also have a shorter generic one that doesn't talk about any particular person). The whole idea is to show that "normal" people go to CHURCH at TSA (maybe they're your neighbors or you know them).

The "your Family/our Family" line was an ad lib, but it's perfect!

I found it kinda corny, but that's just one person's opinion! It seems like it's trying to reach the church-hopper crowd, as opposed to being a safe place for spiritual seekers to find Truth.
Is there any way to get a more 'real' sounding person on the ad? Like, having Dave or Gene actually read the script, or does that get too complicated for the recording buiz?
