Renovations Complete!

Finally! The renovation work in the Bangor chapel is finished! Well, technically, there are a couple of stages to go, like re-staining the altar furniture to match and FILLING it with new people (we're happy to keep the old ones too . . . well most of 'em)! We now seat about 20 more people than before.

I
thought I'd post the pictures here, so you could all see what it looks like now. Especially those who haven't been to Bangor in a few years.

Here's a list of the changes: fresh paint with a new color scheme (egg shell white with light gray on the front wall), new carpeting (also in the upstairs hallway), new seating, three new wall pictures, and new windows with new window treatments. All of these changes brightened up our place of worship tremendously, so we had to replace the LCD projector to one that was bright enough to see the images.

As mentioned above, we soon hope to re-finish the altar furniture to match the reddish tones of the seating and windows.

We believe this refreshing was important because 1) We want to offer the very
best to our all-worthy God 2) We are starting a publicity blitz campaign this September to draw in new people and we wanted to spiff things up, and 3) things were getting old and frayed (like the carpet) and just plain needed to be replaced.

I think I'll talk a bit about the pictures tomorrow, so for now I hope you can just get a feel for the physical look.

The chapel at the Bangor Salvation Army is a special place for many people. Here they have found God, deepened their relationship with God, reconciled with those around them, experienced holine
ss, prayed for healing (and seen answers!), etc. (I could go on and on!). But more important than our physical place of worship, is the place our worship originates- our heart.

May your heart be continually renewed and renovated by God's Holy Spirit within you. And may you worship him from that holy place where he choose
s to live.
